Lawson repeats what I said

May 17, 2012

There seems to be a double standard on display by the override supporters.

This week’s Walpole Times includes a column by Finance Committee member and override supporter Alice Susan Lawson about unfunded and underfunded mandates. In it, she recommends that citizens hold their legislators accountable for the mandates they have imposed on our town. It is REMARKABLY SIMILAR to the column I wrote a few weeks ago that was widely trashed and disparaged by the override supporters and was even called “overly simplistic and wishful” by School Committee Vice Chair Nancy Gallivan.

I hope Mrs. Gallivan takes a look at Lawson’s letter and responds to it in the same way she responded to mine. Is Lawson “overly simplistic and wishful” as well? I look forward to seeing Mrs. Gallivan’s letter in next week’s Times in response to Lawson’s “overly simplistic and wishful” viewpoint.
