Sam Obar Show Guest Lineup

January 3, 2011

2011 will be a fantastic year for The Sam Obar Show, as we enter the final months of broadcast after almost three years on the air. We will be bringing back some of our best guests from the past three years, as well as bringing in some new ones. Here are the guests from January to March:

January 8: State Senator Jim Timilty (D-Walpole), who easily slid into re-election this year with no opponents, did a 20-minute interview in late December but the interview itself will not air until January 8. Timilty has never appeared on The Sam Obar Show before, and will discuss, among other issues, Walpole’s long-lost prison mitigation money and whether he thinks Governor Deval Patrick, who has waged an assault on municipal aid during the last four years, will ever give it back.

January 15: Newly-elected State Rep. Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk) will discuss his priorities for the next two years. Winslow will represent one precinct in Walpole, and replaces State Rep. Richard Ross who left earlier this year to take over US Senator Scott Brown’s old State Senate seat. Winslow, in fact, will be holding a seat Brown himself once held.

February 5: Walpole Times reporter Keith Ferguson and two-time candidate for selectman Patrick Shield will join me in a live in-studio roundtable discussion on local issues. It will not be a traditional interview; rather, it will be a discussion with all three of us discussing current issues in Walpole. This will be a show not to miss. Also, note that Shield will be making his return onto the local political stage for the first time in a year.

February 19: Newly-elected State Rep. Ryan Fattman (R-Sutton), considered a rising star in the Republican Party at only 24 years old, defeated an incumbent Democrat to win his seat this year, one of the few Republicans statewide to succeed in doing so. Fattman had previously served as one of the youngest members of Sutton’s Board of Selectmen. Fattman will discuss his priorities for the next two years, and talk about his party and its future after the GOP experienced a bloodbath at the polls in Massachusetts this year.

March 12: State Senator Richard Ross (R-Wrentham), one of four Republicans in the 40-member State Senate, will appear for the first time in a live in-studio interview on The Sam Obar Show. Ross took over the State Senate seat previously held by US Senator Scott Brown, and used to represent a part of Walpole while State Representative.
