Robbins Road neighbors speak out about police station proposal

March 11, 2010

Residents of the area on Robbins Road where town officials have proposed putting a new police station continue to have concerns.  Although there was a meeting for area residents in January, they wrote a follow-up letter recently that was sent to the Board of Selectmen and other town officials, including members of the Finance Committee and Precinct 7 RTMS.

This letter outlines the questions and concerns neighbors have about the proposal.  Additionally, now area residents are expressing concern about what one local neighbor calls “a new wrinkle – a document that references a ‘100 foot Com Tower'” at the site.

Several neighbors are apparently planning to attend tonight’s Finance Committee meeting, where the Board of Selectmen will present their case for
pushing an override vote in June for the Robbins Road facility.  According to a source, they
plan to raise their “concerns at this meeting and other points along the
way.”
